Established in February, the Mavadivembu Herbal Garden has blossomed into a vibrant oasis of natural remedies. Boasting over a hundred varieties of herbs, both indigenous and exotic, the garden serves as a testament to the rich botanical heritage of Sri Lanka. To name a few: Aloe Vera, Long Pepper, Lesser Galangal, Dried Sunk Vine, Wiry Indigo, Cassia Tora, Sodom Apple, Castor Bean, etc. Its primary purpose is to educate and inspire the community about the diverse health benefits that these plants offer.


Thikiliveddai Farm has been thriving with its cattle breeding program, consisting of a mix of 16 calves and cows. During the period of August 15th to September 15th, the farm’s diligent efforts yielded a commendable milk production of 31 liters from 2 dairy cows.


A meeting was held on September 25th at the Dilmah Company to discuss the progress and potential of their cashew project. The project focuses not only on the production of cashew nuts but also on the extraction of cashew treacle, a valuable byproduct with various applications.


Yoga and martial arts classes are held every Saturday morning at the Mavadivembu center. Two young students from the center recently demonstrated a keen interest in learning karate and participated in their first grading exam. Their dedication and hard work paid off as they successfully earned their karate certificates.




Grade 8 and 9 students in Vaddavan have made remarkable progress in their English language skills through dedicated extra classes. Initially struggling to even introduce themselves, these students have now developed improved pronunciation and vocabulary, confidently expressing themselves in English. To further enhance their language abilities, the students engage in various activities, including writing dictation, reciting poetry, and performing short skits. These exercises help to expand their vocabulary and improve their overall fluency. The continued success of these English classes is evident in the significant growth of the students’ language skills. This positive development bodes well for their future academic and personal pursuits.



10 JJCP Chess prodigies prepared themselves for the East Battle Chess Championship 2024, which was held on 28th and 29th September in Ninthavur. Our very own Erajeshwaran Nitharshan became the 1st Runner Up! A proud moment for us all!


The Symbiosophy Education Foundation recently held a gathering to strengthen their educational initiatives within the Vaddavan community. Participants included students, parents, and teachers, all of whom came together to discuss ways to increase student attendance and address any concerns. To ensure ongoing success, a parent representative was selected to collaborate closely with the Symbiosophy team. This dedicated individual will play a crucial role in maintaining the project’s momentum and ensuring its positive impact on the community.


Symbiosophy Education Foundation also showcased its educational programs and resources to the students and faculty of Mavadivembu School during a morning assembly on September 25th.
