A Bountiful Cashew Harvest: Empowering Women & Nature

We are thrilled to announce a successful cashew harvest from our farm in Batticaloa! By embracing natural farming methods and empowering local women, we have cultivated the tastiest cashews on the island. To maximize the impact of this harvest, we are inviting bids for these premium cashews. The proceeds from the highest bid will be directly invested in the upliftment of our women farmers, supporting their communities and ensuring a sustainable future.

Mavadivembu Farm

We’re excited to share that our Mavadivembu farm is flourishing with a diverse range of crops! Our fields are brimming with:

Okra
Beans
Capsicum
Star Fruit
Grapes
Sweet Cherry
Brinjal
Spiny Gourd

Additionally, we’re nurturing a new generation of chili plants in our seedling trays, ready to spice up meals. By embracing natural farming methods, we’re nurturing a healthy ecosystem and producing the freshest, most nutritious produce. Youth Development

Mavadivembu – A New Facility!

Symbiosophy Education Foundation was conducting free extra classes and skill development programs for children in the Mavadivembu area at the premises of Fr. Maria Nayagam Girls’ Home. To expand our reach and impact, we’re excited to share that we’ve received written approval from the principal and zonal education director to continue these programs on Saturdays at Bt/KK/Mavadivembu Sri Vigneswara Vidyalayam. Together, let’s inspire young minds and create a brighter future for our community.

Waddavan – Classes & Nutritional Meals

The village of Vaddavan hums with the promise of learning and growth. In addition to weekly English classes, the children now eagerly anticipate their weekly Mathematics sessions, conducted by a dedicated male teacher. While academic pursuits flourish, the holistic development of the children remains a priority. Every Saturday, nutritious meals, primarily sourced from local harvests, nourish their bodies and minds. The enriching tapestry of extracurricular activities continues to unfold, with regular sessions in Chess, Karate, Yoga, Skill Development, Handwork, and motivational discussions to inspire young minds.

Vivekananda Community Foundation

Mullivaddavan, an underdeveloped village in Punanai, has witnessed a remarkable transformation. A once-dormant pre-school has been revitalized, offering a ray of hope for the village’s young minds. Through a partnership between Symbioun and Vivekananda Community Foundation, this pre-school has been brought back to life. The initiative aims to provide quality pre-school education, nutritious meals, and other essentials to the children of Mullivaddavan.

The pre-school offers a stimulating learning environment, where children can develop theircognitive, social, and emotional skills.
The provision of nutritious meals ensures that the children are well-fed and ready to learn.
Regular visits by a foundation representative provide valuable training and supervision for teachers, and skill development activities for children.

Similar initiatives are underway in Punanai Anaikattu and Kinnayadi, where teacher salaries are being supported to ensure the continuity of pre-school education. By investing in early childhood education, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for the children. This collaborative effort is a testament to the power of community and the transformative impact of education.
