A Warm Meal, A Heartfelt Gesture

A heartwarming initiative, the food donation drive, commenced this month in the Sithaandi GS Division. This noble endeavor aims to provide sustenance to over 100 elderly residents within the community. The Grama Seva Office had already welcomed nearly 40 elderly individuals who benefited from this initiative. To ensure that no one was left behind, dedicated volunteers actively reached out to elderly residents in the remote areas of the village. By providing nutritious meals, this initiative not only addresses the physical needs of the elderly but also offers a sense of care and compassion.

A Call for Help: Mavadivembu in Need

The recent torrential rains and floods have wreaked havoc on the Mavadivembu community. The farm and community hall, which serve as vital pillars of the community, have been severely damaged. The community hall has been a sanctuary for students, providing a space for learning, skill development, and personal growth. Its destruction leaves a significant void in the lives of many. The cashew project, a collaborative effort between Symbioun and Dilmah, has come to a successful conclusion. This initiative empowered women in Batticaloa by providing them with sustainable employment opportunities. To express our gratitude to the Dilmah team for their invaluable support, we hosted a special refreshment event. It was a heartwarming occasion to celebrate the achievements of the project and strengthen our partnership.

Symbioun Limited’s karate program in Mavadivembu is nurturing a new generation of martial artists. These young athletes are not only honing their skills for upcoming exams but are also gearing up for rigorous competitions. A dedicated group of students is diligently preparing for both double and single-grade exams scheduled for December. As they train, they are learning the intricacies of combat, developing discipline, and building self-confidence.
